Netpack Youtube Downloader is a very simple GUI for youtube-dl. It allows you to download videos from Youtube™ (and other popular video websites) and save them as mp3. It doesn’t have lots of options since it was mainly built for a very specific task and I just decided that it would be better to share it than not to. If you need a fully featured GUI for youtube-dl checkout youtube-dlg by Sotiris Papadopoulos. It’s fully loaded with options and works very very well.
Install the .deb file by double-clicking on it.
Open a terminal and run the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install youtube-dl
sudo chmod 777 /usr/share/netpackyoutubedownloader/settings.conf
Netpack Youtube Downloader can now be found under the Internet category of your menu.
